The comic book store I used to work for got passes to every sci-fi, horror and fantasy film that was released in the city. I saw a lot of stinkers as a result, but the one God is going to punish me for is Lawnmower Man 2. Such a bad idea.

Got all four today! (Does victory lap around office, giving out high-fives to confused co-workers). Whoooo! Me am smart today!

When I worked at a comic book shop we got promo passes to lots of sci-fi, fantasy and horror films. I think the one I most regret is Lawnmower Man 2, or possibly Dungeons & Dragons. Terrible films, that God will justly punish me for watching.

I'm re-reading Transmetropolitan now, and I'm struck by how old fashioned it really is, despite being set in the unfathomably far future. The technology and the politics feel pre-millenial. It's very clearly a 20th century story with a sci-fi skin.

What does that make us?
