The absolute lack of joy is what made Man of Steel so disappointing. Superman Returns might be a mess, but it had at least one scene that made me want to stand up and cheer.
Having read it now, I have to agree. I was expecting much worse. This guy is clearly a fan and is current with the character. Too many articles about DC properties seem to be by people who haven't glanced at a comic since 1986.

Yeah, I like the chaptered structure. Also, they both feel like Pratchett was trying to write a different kind of Ankh-Morpork story, one not centered on the Watch.
