Oh yeah, I'd read all that before starting Gotham Central. I knew what the score was, but I still appreciated a TPB edition that included the establishing material. It showed a consideration to the new reader that is clearly missing in later editions.

That's why I appreciated the TPB with the earlier stories included. It took the time to establish their relationship.

Montoya and Dent's relationship gets established in earlier stories, whether Batman or Detective I can't remember. There was a TPB edition of Half a Life that included the earlier stories so that the reader would have the context. Shame they took those out.

Yeah, he comes off as a dick in most of his comics as well, so I wasn't exactly surprised. But when you tell someone you liked their comic and then they insult you… well it's pretty annoying. So I hope he makes lots of great new material for us all to enjoy, then dies painfully in a fire. Scratch that, two fires.

I loved Zim and most of Mr. Vasquez's comic work. But when I met him at a signing about ten years or so ago, he was a dick.

What I really liked about Ellis' intro to him and Apollo was that they never get labeled. It wasn't about sexual orientation or LGBT representation. It was simply about two men who loved each other.
