To be fair, O'Neal stated in the Kinja forum mess that although it was a tough decision, wrestling coverage was cut. No mention of it just being a hiatus.

Putting the comment in the RAW/SD comment sections would probably have drawn eyes to the fact that even if wrestling coverage continues, it won't be with those writers that we wanted to continue reading. Like how the live PPV threads didn't involve LaToya to everyone's disappointment.
