About the only thing I remember is they worked in a scene where he pretended to be George Bush over an intercom. And a meta-joke on a Wayne's World sketch where Carvey-as-Garth said the movie sucked. Joke's not as funny when it's true.

Hope you get it.
He's very likeable and talented but damn did he do nothing but choose the wrong projects to sign onto. I know he took a lot of time off for his heart troubles, but I think we were probably spared a decade of bad movies and superfluous Adam Sandler film cameos.
Remember Opportunity Knocks? It may have existed, but was more likely a dream I had.
I saw it as a kid—I guess it's not awful when viewed by an eight or nine year-old, but even then I realized the premise wasn't very good and wasn't impressed by it. Nothing like vitriolic hate though.
I saw it as a kid and was really into Python, but I remember Cleese had a somewhat substantial supporting role.
The record low for a number one was around forty thousand, so that's very likely if they put it out not against any major releases.
I've read the book it's based on and apparently the film added some huge subplot about jewel thieves that's not even mentioned in the original novel.
Arby's once gave me a free soda because the old guy in line in front of me was taking too long to contemplate whether or not five sandwiches for five dollars was a good deal or not.

I think for me it was the sketch where they were introducing him as still being sharp at his old age, but due to his senility all he could say was "It's Saturday Night Live."
Now I'll never hear him read off my name.
Hey, it's possible he learned to play one of those songs.
I think Paul McCartney would be a better example, although I guess it was more cyclical.
I didn't think the novel was that great, but it was certainly far better than the film with its appeals to broad comedy and cartoonish celebrity parodies. Do you agree that the ending change made for the film was an improvement?
Would you feel the same way if you saw her without the glasses?
