I tuned out the prettiness when I first watched because it's compulsory on the CW to the point that it's meaningless.

Dark Angel was terrible, but at least in S2 they had enough sense to prop up Jessica Alba with people who know how to act. I own S2, though, and it lives in a small section of my DVD shelf dedicated to shamefully bad things I've watched only because Jensen Ackles is in them.

I'm really glad I knew nothing about the fanbase when I started Netflixing the show three years ago. The first time I typed "Jensen Ackles" into Google and got past the top few hits (IMDB, etc.), I gave up on trawling the intarwebz for SPN-related content.

A number people who worked on The X Files had a hand in Supernatural, at least in the early seasons: Kim Manners, John Shiban, and tons of (mostly Vancouver-based) guest stars.

Aside from enthusiastic recommendations, I don't usually push TV shows on people, but I did make my sister watch "Mystery Spot" because I used to torture her with classic rock when we were much younger.

"No Quarter" would be very appropriate.

I'm not fond of many parts of S6, but there were bound to be rough patches when re-starting a show that was supposed to be over. But there were enough truly brilliant standalone episodes that I'll gladly cut it some slack. S7 was ho-hum, but it had a much tighter focus, and I thought it was shifting the show away from

I was severely disappointed with Crowley's throne room. Metatron's study was crappy because he's a crappier hack than Chuck ever was, but I expected the dapper King of Hell to have better interior design sensibilities. And the suicide protest made my eyes roll back into my head. It's pretty bad when even the demons

Yeah, it was way too easy, and if it's that easy to cure a demon that even the King of Hell can't control, they why isn't anyone trying to cure more demons? At least the writers paid juuuust enough attention to continuity to realize that the cure simply brings Dean back to his problems with the Mark of Cain. I can

I was pleasantly surprised by Unrepentant Geraldines after years of steadily losing enthusiasm since Choirgirl. For unfathomable lyrics, I put her in the same category as Yes.

I'm finding the bromance witty and compelling enough that Castiel's story is at least palatable, if repetitive. Cole would be fine if his timeline and apparent actor age hadn't been bungled right out of the gate. Couldn't a young Dean have killed his wife or kid brother or some other loved one who'd make more

No love for clickums?

I'm a white woman, and I use the nod on a daily basis, but I'm in an anomalous situation in a majority-black city. I'm a New Orleans native & resident who grew up in a whitish lower middle-class neighborhood that got increasingly black in the '80s. I still live in a neighborhood that's mostly black, and the nod is

I've always loved "Coup By Clam," fan hate be damned. Slamming a Farscape episode for being too silly is like slamming Seinfeld for relying too heavily on observational humor.

He gets weak if the Mark isn't sated. Crowley's been feeding him Abaddon's loyalists because it's less objectionable than killing humans — assuming that the demons are the only thing keeping the vessels alive — and it roots out Crowley's opposition.

I'm a little worried that at this point they have too big a cast. Even if the brothers are are a pair, the overall story will still have to check in with Crowley and Cas in every episode, whether it's an appearance or just a vague reference to them being off doing other things à la S8 Garth. The problem is that the

I'd be delighted if they'd take the angel arc off the back burner, put it in a covered dish, and set in the rear of the fridge. Still, I was more pleased with the premiere than I expected to be.

Same here, though I usually agreed with PDN's letter grade minus all the vitriol. Reviews and grades aside, I simply liked talking about the show with other commenters in forum that didn't attract the more off-putting elements of the fandom. Dunno if SPN's still worth reviewing though; the cast is still turning in

I just assumed that they deliberately cast Deadwood alums on Justified. No idea if that's actually the case, though.

I don't have much patience for the spoiler police, even though I usually don't get around to watching things until well after they've first aired. It's inevitable that I pick up a few spoilers by poking around TV criticism sites, but I'm not about to shriek at total strangers on the internet because they aren't
