This x 1,000,000. IMO, TZ was fun and all, but Outer Limits was in a different league. Besides being creepy as all get out, the hour long format made for better stories with a slower build, and didn't rely on "twists" the way TZ did.

In honor of this discovery, I hereby demand a new brand of Vodka named "White Tulip". Get on it, everyone!

I'm so glad they asked her about "Brokeback Mountain". Such a great great movie. And her character was expanded from a throwaway line in the short story, implying that the "waitress" that Ennis was seeing may have only been imaginary. LC was so great in that small role, the perfect antithesis to Ennis' dour,

"The Woods are lovely, dark and deep…."

"Holy shit! There really is nerve gas up here!!"

I wonder if the show didn't shoot itself in the foot all the way back in the pilot, when Rick was in the hospital, and the show skipped over who-knows-how-many days or weeks in time. While it made for a creepy, disorienting journey into this post-zombie-apocalypse world for Rick (and saved a shitload of money in the

OMG she's great in Postcards!

I think Streep is fine in it. My favorite aspect of her character is that, as "high society" as she wants to appear to everyone, her I-grew-up-in-the-gutter roots can't help but leak out around the edges when she's agitated. I love her crass taunting of Willis just before she "falls" down the stairs.
There's a subtle,

Just caught a major goof….when Rick drives up to the prison, Carl opens the outer gate and Rick drives in, gets out, and tells Carol about Daryl leaving.

"Angel" reference?

"Swingtown". It only lasted one season, and the whole "let's explore a few couples in the swinging 70's" premise sort of became "let's explore a few couples in the 70's" by the end. Apparently, "Swingtown" had too much "swing" in it for CBS.

I'd agree with you- while BB, The Wire et. al. are great in their own right (it still remains to be seen if BB will stick the landing. I hope it does) LOST still towers because of its crazy ambition and scale, and its levels of narrative and meta-narrative (as you sort of pointed out, it's a television show about

Great repatee you two, but I've got to motor if I'm going to make that protest at the abortion clinic.

Exactly. I feel like the suspense on this show works the same way that scene from "Psycho" works, when Norman is sinking Marion's car in the swamp….and it stops. Suddenly, you're sweating and biting your nails….for Norman Fucking Bates.

Yes. Unlike Elizabeth, Philip looks like he's wearing a disguise even when he's just himself.

Yeah they got an opening title sequence!

Meh. I only ever watch SVU on USA because MELONI.

Liked for FUCK YOU, THE KILLING.

This. I got into Angel because TNT showed 2 episodes early in the morning, and I was usually up and had it on while I worked. I've seen the entire series through at least 5 times, and I never get tired of watching it. Great writing, great cast, great show.

I wrote a post higher up about exactly this. It ain't for nothing that the first season won the Best Drama Emmy.
