Where this show should go - embrace the "Deadwood" vibe of "how do you carve out community/civilisation from a raw wilderness?"

Good fucking christ. American conservatives on one side and Lena Dunham on the other. A battle somewhat reminiscent of Stalin v Hitler. But far more obnoxious and stupid.

The Keep on the Borderlands! Yes, that's right! I progressed quickly to AD&D and was a proper D&D nutter for a while. Had every book. And as I recall, in those "pre-internet/hard to get porn mag if you're 12" days the illustration for the Succubus from the "Monster Manual" was quite useful for, uh, nevermind……

Probably asked and answered in another comment section here, but was this "EST" bollocks a real thing back then? I was about Henry's age and probably wouldn't have known about it if it had been.

Agreed as to this - I was back and forth between an American and English parent in those days and never heard Yaz in the US.

Yes! Yes! This all day long!
I flat-out fucking LOVE this show for many reasons but its capturing of the era is high on the list. That said, how in the fuck have we not had little Henry getting his Dungeon Master's Guide out?
D&D really took off around '81 or so IIRC and I remember how horrified my American mother's

Sort of occurred to me that Wynn Duffy's criminal sidekick has been around a good long while - we even rather have "criminal sidekick bloat" to an extent.

You know white people in this town - they don't even launder the money they have stolen! You just walk in on them and it's right there in a gym bag. Keema, I have mad respect for the Mexican cartel after dealing with these yokels.

Agreed but with the exception of something like late-era "Sons of Anarchy."

Because of course the fact that guns aren't allowed there equates to there not being any guns there?

Way better than it might sound. Sounds at first like a trashy throwaway USA Network type show, but actually has some very well-done episodes/sequences. Some episodes have actually been of roughly equivalent quality to series' that are thought of as quality TV.

And then continues celebration by dusting myself off. Hearing the doorbell. Seeing a UPS deliverywoman who looks like a stripper. Exchanging meaningfully lusty looks. And having sex with her immediately thereafter.

Holy fucking fuck! I didn't even realise there was a third series of this going now! And six episodes into it apparently. Got some downloading and catching up to do, it seems!

Don Beyer Volvo! I nearly spit out my drink when that ad came on! Anyone who lived in or around DC back in those days probably did the same.

Tuco was by far my favourite bad guy from Breaking Bad. Plus the actor has a great deal of charisma and just chews scenery like nothing else.

Criminal defense here too once upon a time. Agreed with Sparto as to all of that. Also would add the dehumanising "court appointed" work dynamic was spot on.

The game ain't changed. Just got a whole lot more fierce.

Really? That does impress me. Oddly enough I have never been to that one but have been to a lot of them over in that part of the world.

Maybe not that yet, but I expect that Todd VanderWerff is somewhere on about Annelise's corpse being subjected to unwanted touching absent affirmative written consent.
