Meanwhile, a show seemingly inspired by test screenings of The Muppets gets treated as gold.
I love how the review implies a show about a sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea was going to be a sure-fire hit.

Fish Hooks to me always felt too much like a calculated attempt to mix Disney's live-action sitcoms with a CN/Nick-style cartoon. It's a lot like how Sanjay and Craig just wants to be like both 90s Nicktoons and modern-day CN.

A lot of those shows never aired on Disney Channel, but they were all produced by Disney Television Animation.
I believe Disney Channel was never an all-animation network.

It's kind of ironic Disney Channel has been more supportive of creator-driven cartoons than Disney XD ever was. On XD, you can include more explosions and butt jokes, but that's pretty much all you can include.
Yet often looks and sounds like a preschooler show.
