Kevin Sorbo stars in the remake of the Prince classic, Proper Grain.
Why, that's the Russian New Year!
There were some other ones, too: A decent D-Day science fiction adventure (with, I think, Charlie Sheen) and another one with Mark Hamill as a hoarder.
It is wildly overstated. He appeared at a picket that was a photo opportunity in 1961; he went with a larger group of celebrities to the March on Washington in 1963. That's it.
I thought the third season was good television and building momentum for something potentially interesting before it got cancelled. Those first few episodes of the fourth season seemed to keep that energy alive, but boy did it flag after that.
Xander's lie to Buffy at the end of Season 2 saved the world.
Major myth of the Velvet Underground: That they sold poorly and got not attention. The industry considered 30,000 units a decent number in the late 60s (but far less than what Reed and Warhol expected) and contemporary critics generally praised the VU, especially after their self-titled album in 1969.
What do you think? 5.1?
Pikes, man. Pikes.
Whoops — my mistake. (Still a great, great episode.)
Well, there are a lot of Night Court episodes that would contend for that. As would Better Off Ted's "Racial Sensitivity," which may be the BEST sitcom episode ever.
Should I invoke Chuckles Bites the Dust? It's probably the best single sitcom episode of the 1970s.
"Wealth and religious extremism? No, hasn't affected me one bit."
Fair. I saw it without the benefit of 3-D, and "filmed play" is right. Those don't usually work unless the Marx Brothers are involved.
I'm OK with Kelly; it's the staginess of the thing that's remarkable. You get a nice bit of action in the middle and then a lot of talk on a static set.
It may take years for victims of sexual assault to come forward, particularly if their attacker is a powerful figure. Add to that the less-than-liberated attitudes in society in the early 60s (where this might have been seen as mischievous "rooster" behavior and not assault) and it makes sense this would only come out…
Almost any Hitchcock film looks good if you watch it after Dial M For Murder. Good Lord, that one hasn't aged well.
I'll still take it over any year between 1961 and 1966. Don't know that anyone would want those years back except wealthy white males.
A good, funny man. I wish all the strength, peace and grace in the world to Oswalt and his daughter.
