Oddly enough, French — just like English — actually has more than one way to say things. "Tu parles français?" and/or "Parles-tu français?" may not be the most *formal* way to ask someone if they speak French, but it's an entirely parsable and grammatically legitimate one (and one that in reality, you're much *more*

Kindwords, of course he'd tutoie a menial; he'd vouvoie the *patrons*, not his underlings. Yes, you tutoie rather than vouvoying your intimates (friends, family, etc.); you also tutoie non-intimates whom you do not respect enough to be polite.

Me three. DAMNIT!

Craig J. Clark, and even then she often has to reluctantly let herself get dragged into the rest of the gang's hairbrained schemes just to keep things on the rails (not that she generally succeeds, of course), so even she has to flip-flop to the dark side sometimes too.

Never mind. Posted this comment in the wrong place. My computer's driving me crazy.

I'll agree with Idiotking and ConstipatedDuck; you don't have to necessarily go all the way back to the beginning (although I would recommend it if at all possible), but you do need to see more than just one episode. Quite a bit of this episode did, in fact, depend on your background knowledge of the characters to

Yeah, so let me get this straight. We're in a world where the Soviet Union still exists, but so does an independent non-Soviet Turkmenistan. I mean, not that I'm a big stickler for strict historical accuracy in a cartoon (let alone "Archer", of all things), but now I'm just thoroughly confused. Gurpgork!

"Sports Night" had an episode in which Jeremy was Y2K-testing the electronics and blacked out the studio.

Easily the best episode of the series so far. I think what actually worked about it is that it felt like I was watching a story about people instead of a dramatized lecture about everything that's wrong with the media.

In addition to Dana Carvey, the current president of the UFC is a man named Dana White, and there's a Republican congressman from California named Dana Rohrabacher. And that's just the three I'm able to name off the top of my head; there are quite a few others listed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wik….

I feel the need to point out that among the multitude of sins that this episode stands accused of committing, we need to add "predictability" as well. My friend that I watch this with correctly predicted that Leona Lansing, with her "creating a context" to fire him, was behind the gossip leaks well before Charlie

You're free to agree or disagree with Scott's review as you wish, but his criticism was perfectly legitimate and the fact that he didn't uncritically love the episode doesn't mean he harbours some kind of bias that should disqualify him from writing about it at all. "Unbiased" does not necessarily mean "agrees with

I'm willing to give this show a chance, so I haven't given up on it yet, but indeed this wasn't a great episode. And I'll be out sooner rather than later if the show's basic MO continues to be "News Night magically gets right the stuff that we already know that other media outlets got wrong in real life".
