If by "that scene" you mean Madison's scene, I wouldn't say he botched it, but it definitely felt amateurish compared to how I could see an accomplished hand like Fincher approaching it. I dunno, it didn't really shock me or disturb me in any way like it kinda felt it was supposed to, but it was a little unsettling.

They're mostly minor differences, GhaleonQ. Here's the best quick example I could find on Youtube.

The only question I have
Is just whether the development studio within Ubisoft actually enjoys working on these awful pieces of garbage, or are they being tortured for daring to want to work on Beyond Good and Evil 2?

Having to hold R2 to move really is a pain in the ass.

I've made it through a good portion of the game so far, and yeah, much like Indigo Prophecy before it, Heavy Rain has some issues with really bad line delivery and awful accents (and whoever the voice actor for Norman Jayden is needs to just stop). But it's no worse than you'll find in any other major video game.

It's just so disappointing given the developer's history of great titles. Just look at Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud, Jeanne d'Arc, Dragon Quest VIII, and the Professor Layton series. *sigh*

Well, there are two ways to romance Subject Zero (only as a male Shepard, despite her comments that she's played both sides). The Renegade route is to just plow her, but then she'll never respect you. The Paragon route has you prying away those defenses and finding the scared child underneath. Either way, neither

Yeah, I definitely had no idea what the Cain was going to do the first time I ever used it, but I somehow managed to survive (with a tiny sliver of health). Those Blood Pack guys on Pragia sure didn't like me for it, though.

Particularly the ones that imitate scam spam like the Krogan "enhancement" pills.

Try replaying the first on Bitter if you haven't already. NMH2 is a bit harder than the first, so being prepared would probably help you out in the long run.

I got my copy two days ago, after beating Mass Effect 2. Let's just say that I can't remember a more interesting one-two punch of releases in recent years, and that the giant robot fight in NMH2 may be the most hilarious boss fight ever.

An amazing game
Everything about the first game has been entirely streamlined or improved, and the larger focus on the cast of characters make you care about the choices you make and their effect on the story. The only really poor part of the game is the exchange from the awful Mako exploration for equally annoying

Halo: Reach comes out in 2010…baaahhh….

I do find it a little hard to give an "A" grade, but I felt the same way about the mediocre platforming that dominated Schafer's oft-lauded Psychonauts. The gameplay in both games more or less serves as a vehicle for the story, the humor, the whimsy, and the creative brilliance of Schafer, not as addictive or

Pavement: Rock Band.

When you trap your Sim in a situation in which he or she is guaranteed to die. Sure, it doesn't really rationalize a full price purchase, but it sure makes you feel better.

I'd agree with Raging Bear that Heavy Rain is really the wild card of this coming year. If it turns out to be as good as early indications have it, you may see a lot of imitations springing up very soon.

I was actually at the Miami-FIU brawl game. When you're fighting a team you're beating by 35, you've lost all credibility.

Scott, your observation of Miami's campus is dead-on
I went to Miami for the first three semesters of college, and one thing you learn pretty quickly is that the campus is completely separate from the football team and its image 99% of the time. The best programs at Miami are its medical and engineering schools,

Honestly, Phantom Hourglass was the only Zelda game I've ever played only once. It's just not that interesting or overly engaging. Maybe it was the central dungeon you had to play way too many times with a stupid time limit, or the lack of real direction in the game, but it just never felt right. So really, I'd get
