To be fair, some limited polling indicates the women make up over a third of comic book readers, which I'd imagine represents growth. http://geekgirlcon.com/medi…

You should do what I do and get Marvel Unlimited. I can read everything, I just have to wait 6 months and pay the price of two comics a month.

"Maybe if Marvel didn't charge $5.00 for a 22 page comic book"

As soon as I read MarkyGras' post, I thought "wow, that seems so coldblooded — it's something that I would have thought only Perlmutter would have the lack of soul to do" …so I agree.

I'm pretty sure that Marvel still does paper subscriptions.

Yeah, I think that's off-base. Unless Hornacek is referring to Silk getting an arc in the upcoming Spider-Woman as Jessica's mentee.

You seem unpleasant.

"It’s become clear that online buzz doesn’t translate to print sales,"

I like how laconic Jughead looks in that photo. Such a contrast to all that anger.

I got mine free at an NVidia event, so I'm in the same boat.

I've noticed that in Canada there's been a larger focus on the fact that the shooter has a very, very long criminal record that extends back years, and well before he converted to Islam.

Different regions use different criteria for what constitutes a continent though, so not considering Australia as an island is definitely an arbitrary choice — maybe one grounded in U.S. convention though.

I'm not getting the same "Amy was just jealous of Karma's feelings towards Liam" that everyone else is. At the beginning of the episode she accused Karma of lying to her about her feelings for Liam (the accusation that they had resumed sleeping together), something Karma denied with a lie about their being nothing

Ugh, @avclub-ea407c6c8898c300a60b1f84d8f15d80:disqus and @disqus_ZLSFuP8p8c:disqus I too thought that the American coverage was awful. CNN kept bringing on "experts" to speculate about things, and they were basically acting to make their testimony as dramatic as possible.

This actually sounds interesting. The show did a piss-poor job (IMHO) last year in examining the notion of savagery between the 100 and the Grounders. The writers were too wedded to wanting their main characters to be likeable to really explore the issue, and instead made every policy decision take place over the

I'm not sure that I prefer Gustin over Amell, but Tom Cavanaugh and Jesse Martin are both fantastic to the point where they make the show enjoyable for their performances alone. That to me is a huge separation from most CW shows, which rely on interpersonal drama for their plots, as opposed to characters acting

It's the typical DC conundrum: The problem, once observed by a being with high-level powers, is altered so that the villain needs to be taken down through problem solving rather than brute force.

Waid is the king of realizing that comics don't need to be dark all the time. I'd love to see him get in on some Flash plotting, because when he DOES go dark with a character that's he often makes bright and cheery, the results are wonderful. One of the reasons I love his Daredevil work so much.

I haven't been feeling the show this season, but this was a great frigging episode. Quite possibly the only one since Root's disciple turn that has used her well from start to finish. Great job show!

I lived outside a Jack the Ripper death site for a couple months, but you didn't see me getting upset that I constantly had to walk through crowds of gawky onlookers every evening! I took it as part of the colour!!
