The only bending societies that were equal were Southern Water Tribe and the monastic Air Nomads. The other three groups had clear hierarchies, and we were shown a tendency towards male leadership… The exception being the Kiyoshi Warriors' structure, which was gynocentric.

They heavily implied he was a doctor, but didn't say it outright. Must be a pretty good medical school if they have their physicians teaching classes that microbiologists should be teaching.

Yeah, S4! Ah, that ridiculous 30-year old with tenure… Seriously, they could have committed to that uni!! The promo poster had Elena and Caroline in the foreground to everyone else, and I was hoping they would actually follow through with that in the show in terms of focus.

I remember when you said that this was going to happen. And… yep! Hey remember when that person got her throat ripped out at the beginning of the season? Why can't we just focus on that for now?

Given all the people who A) pirate, and B) are actively fighting legal battles to have the right to pirate…

Pretty much.

This is the typical "I have automatic insight into the minds of article writers" thing that internet commenters do. It's nearly always completely wrong and wholly pointless. This review isn't any less based on genuine opinion than any other this season.

The CW is also likely influenced by all of the pre-existing relationships they probably have with Canadian creative and technical companies in Toronto [and in other cases, Vancouver].

So much hate.

Caroline only really began entertaining it as the show moved more towards the point where its characters started realizing they're all horrible people, so I didn't mind it that much. As long as there's self-awareness I'm good, and… Cami doesn't have any awareness. She's walking manufactured tension.

Good call!

Yes I would. For instance, your comment comes off as reasonable, while your downvote comes off as petty nonsense.

I believe they do not, given their more solid version of immortality.

This times a thousand.

The last time I can remember the age thing being brought up is when Caroline fought Damon in S3, and he said "I'm older than you" as a way of implying that he was too strong for her. So it's still part of the show's canon…

6. Vampires have the ability to turn their "humanity" off, which basically turns them into a more evil version of themselves and stops them from feeling bad or regretful about any of their actions.

I disagree. Whatever a spinoff gains from having pre-established characters, it loses more from having to convince us to care about them in a new context.

Why would this get downvotes? Whoever thought quantifying internet opinions makes sense is an idiot.

Eh, it's stronger than TVD was at this point. Cami should probably die though. This show needs to prove that it has some stakes!
