-I'm sad to see Cardinal Versucci go, but he sure got one hell of a sendoff.

Agreed.  This episode actually deserves a lot of praise simply as a genre experiment.

Agreed.  I'm in the tent that thinks it's usually shoddy storytelling if a show follows a character's life, presents it in a certain way, and then goes "but we didn't show you the part that matters!" for its big twist.

The lupus thing is why I can't think that Donnie isn't shady.

One of the reasons I bought that scene was because Maslany sold that Alison definitely bought it.  There was no self-awareness on her part that using a craft room as a torture chamber was stupid, because if anything it was a natural way to violently express her uptight soccermom personality.

I don't think that Ainsley is overly stupid.  Most people would do quite a bit of mental gymnastics before being able to accept "there's two of my friend."

I like Chet, it's douchier.  Wrong, but douchier.

God those are hot.

The proper term for the event was "The Ballet of Chestnuts" good sirs.  "Ballet" conveys the dignity of the proceedings more accurately, you see.

Caroline, those were fabric scissors, not safety scissors.  So… extra ridiculous.

I like this theory.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the clones are going to be pursued by three ideologically distinct factions:

They seemed to be playing the entire thing as Alison having a breakdown after Donnie being a neglectful prick to her.  If they had't shown him having a moment of catharsis with Sarah lecturing him, I would have had a bigger issue with the outcome, but as it was I didn't have an issue with it.

I'm wondering if both Aynesley and her husband (Chet?) are in on minders, and the husband is trying to get closer.  And then it turns out that Donnie is actually super-loyal to Alison and he dies heroically fighting Chet.  Chet could easily be ex-military.

I read that scene the same way.  If Paul had simply gone for another bottle it could have been nothing, but that he drank out of it first… was definitely a signal to Sarah that he had poisoned the first one and that this one was safe.

I disagree.  Alison gets it for her intensity.  I like intense women.

I caught that too!  Great naming writers!

@avclub-0304234e5dac07d007cf06c22b3f29c4:disqus , she doesn't work for the CBC, so her chances are pretty low…

@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus ,  I think the entire thing would go down better for me if she had remembered his name/any details about him.
It just made the entire thing seem drunken enough that jokes like "I know this is early, but meet my parents" come off as unearned.  Your earbud story is sweet,

@avclub-fe401f7f1b2e5a82e7046b1a07488673:disqus , yeah… The "her type" thing is limited to what, he's all of four years older than her, and he's capable?
Of course, even if he checked off all of Cosmo presents Marvel's official list of Kate Bishop's turn-ons, it would still be bizarre plotting.
