I'm a Toronto fan, and I hate the Habs (mostly because so many of their fans have been needlessly dickish to me), so this will be a series that I'm invested in.

Only if he's stepping out on Caroline.
TVD previously used DLZ by TV on the Radio. I'm really hoping they stick with the musical direction of this episode for this series, because it was great.
Elijah is an aristocrat, the consummate vampire archetype. All the primary vampires of the 19th century – Dracula, Carmilla, Varney, and Ruthven – had the same air of nobility to them.

That Hayley's entire motivation is wanting to find her parents drives me crazy.
I don't know that it would signal that Caroline IS leaving TVD, but it definitely was set-up as something they could use to move her to this show permanently if necessary.
It's an interesting point. Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus are all sociopaths, the logical place for Hayley once she gives birth is six feet under…
I think the karaoke-scene was part why Marcel came off like Poochie the dog to me.
It was a bit designed to show how cool the character was, and it was both obvious and ineffective, souring me on the character instantly.
Klaus was friends with fun!Stefan too though!
While Dobrev's turn as Elena was very strong, I actually think she flubbed her Katherine lines a bit by making them more vulnerable than they needed to be. Not so much a question of acting (which she is great at) as it is character interpretation though.
Are you telling me that you've never taken Improvisational Painting Douchebaggery 101?
Mass Effect 3's Citadel DLC, which takes place before the end of the game but was designed as a farewell to the characters, is amazingly evocative.
I hold my grandparents in a very special esteem, so Kevin McFarland's entry really gets the best of me. I have an old boxing trophy of my grandfather's that serves as the same sort of "ultimate memento of him" for me.
Your second paragraph is all sorts of perfect. I kept wondering "so… why hasn't Klaus killed everyone yet?" It wasn't at all like how he normally acts. And the witches failing to explain why they needed him to die via a convoluted method made those scenes even more nonsensical.
I… have a different opinion of this episode.
Touch sir. Touch.
I like my comments Gangam Style.
Abortions for some!
