@avclub-0f29370d9da664c1e143182f37301063:disqus It's like when someone taps you on the opposite shoulder and acts like they're an evil mastermind when you turn in that direction.

From what I understand, the director asked Campbell to make it and he refused. I like the ending of Bubba Ho-Tep; I don't think I'd want a sequel.
Jumping back and forth in time… domestic drama… so it turns into Joking Aside?
A GREAT scientist!
I don't mind his rhythm, but man… A lot of people I honestly respect really like his show, but it is one of the few things I cannot comprehend. I have zero understanding of what you are supposed to enjoy any time Ted Leo is not around. It's not that I hate it, I just can't fathom it.
@avclub-f2fab98dc792d8199eecbc69a110185b:disqus I actually prefer that one to the original by quite a bit.
I remember him announcing he was going to do it. I never believed he'd stick to it this long.
But you can't just not fucking listen to it. I hear Boom Boom Pow through no fault of my own probably once a week.
I would take a thousand years of the rule of Black Eyed Peas over two days of the rule of LMFAO.
All I know about the Sherlock Holmes adventure game series is two brief summaries from Justin McElroy, but I believe that actually is what happens - Holmes becomes a criminal.
My roommate's reaction to that show was "this is the sitcommiest sitcom I've ever seen." He is not entirely wrong. It's still hilarious, though.
@avclub-db0c35ce2663c0e8c4b3f38642a49748:disqus I could only do that if there was the caveat that I couldn't put characters from The Thick of It on there, because otherwise that would fill the list.
Yeah, there are much better reasons to dislike it.
He made fun of writers who cared about social critique. The only thing he wrote novels for was to make money. Now, if you want to make arguments about the subconscious themes evident in them, we can talk, but he definitely had no social criticism in mind.
He doesn't deserve to be mocked because he takes his job seriously? Given that his job is to diarrhea out some of the most thoroughly contentless and soulless dreck to make it to the multiplex, I think the fact that he takes it seriously only makes it more amusing.
Those First Look abominations are so awful I literally had a nightmare about watching one once.
Do you have any evidence for that? Because I've read quite a bit about and by Spillane and that goes against practically everything I know about him.
No matter how lazy or unfunny the original joke, sarcastically repeating the premise it is always lazier and less funny.
E.Buzz Miller - there's a difference between criticizing the movie for capitalizing on gay panic and criticizing the characters for being worried about being raped by gays. Rabin was complaining about more gay rape jokes, not that the characters were homophobic.
For those who wish to relive it:
