WHITE TORNADO!!!

Where is this magical TV Club Advent Calendar we were promised? Santa? Jesus? Anyone?

I find it hard to believe that an episode with so many colorful villains could be so incredibly dull. The whole thing just seems to be about moving a bunch of pieces around a board with no great plot or stakes to speak of (and lackluster animation to boot, although the Joker redesign from Batman Beyond: ROTJ is

What a Duketastrophe!

Collective Soul is also still a guilty pleasure for me. I think it’s kind of cool that they’re still at it, too. Ed Roland the lead singer and Kevin Griffin from Better The Ezra just toured together and from this it sounds like they at least have a sense of humor/irony about themselves and music in general: http://soun

Agreed, though not at the level of I-Empire, which was surprisingly good.

Weird mix?
Does anyone else that's listened to this album think it's mixed strangely? I can't figure out what the deal is; it seems like it's significantly quieter than most other recent albums, but increasingly the volume seems to flatten it out. Unfortunate because I actually like a lot of the songs.

So much good stuff from Mask of the Phantasm:
"Oops, guess the joke's on me! You're not Batman after all! Looks like there's a new face in Gotham, and soon his face will be all over town. To say nothing of his legs, feet and spleen… And head…" {massive explosion}

Will you be covering Craig Thompson's Habibi at some point? I think it comes out at the end of the month.

I forgot to ask you, do you like guacamole?

hot ham water!

I saw them on that TMBG tour too. Didn't really do much for me, but I remember them playing that "Get Over It" song that I think was their first hit.

Wait a minute (and this was probably addressed back when that episode aired) - if Fry had sex using Zoidberg's body, shouldn't that body have died?

Yes?

I love "Beat A Drum." Like Marcus says, Reveal is perfect for a summer day; a real mood record that can be listened to all the way through.

Lifes Rich Pageant is my favorite too. They just reissued it in a fancy 25th anniversary package last week which is worth checking out (includes a disc of demos, some of which just have stipe humming over the instrumentation since he hadn't written lyrics yet).

Not even.

Wasn't the issue leading to the reboot that Raimi really wanted to use the Vulture for the villain in Spider-Man 4 and movie execs were all "Old man bad guy? No kids want to see an old man!" and Raimi was all "Vulture or nothing" and movie execs were like "Guess what? It's reboot time!"?

VR helmets
Something that bugs me even more than virtual reality being a plot point of the Riddler episode is they didn't even do it right. Those helmet/headset things don't cover the eyes so the wearers wouldn't be immersed in any type of virtual environment. For a show that gets so much right (especially visually),

I think the hermano joke reaches its apex in the episode where Michael and Marta actually do start sneaking around and GOB calls Michael "mon frere" and "fratello" despite having taken Spanish in high school. There are some good gags in Marta Complex, but that one's better for sure.
