I had the exact same experience. Bela and (OG) Ruby were among my favourite characters!

I couldn't believe it when I found out fans didn't like Bela.

Male characters tend to come back, though (Kevin excepted). I guess with Mary's resurrection this season there's a tick in the other column, but given how many times Lucifer, Crowley and Castiel have died, and the number of times Bobby's been back, it's pretty noticeable.

It's probably not a good sign that the first thing I thought of on hearing the name Wayward Sisters was the ill-fated Gilmore Girls spinoff Windward Circle.
