Are employers in the States not required to give you those days off, anyway? In Canada the 26th is a holiday, the 27th is off to compensate for Christmas being on Sunday, and people get either the 30th or the 2nd for New Years.

I liked Abercrombie's stories in Rogues and Dangerous Women, but The Blade Itself did nothing for me. The characters were unpleasant and the plot never really got going, imo.
