Kind of like overacting, hamming it up, but in a more positive way.

2 cents
I couldn't possibly spend the time to read through all these comments, so I'll just throw my opinion into this stew:
Toby Keith, et. al.
Toby Keith, like a lot of country singers, writes a mix of serious, shmaltzy, and downright fun songs. Two of his recent hits are in the jokey vein - check out "She's a Hottie" and "I Wanna Talk About Me".
That should be: "…whether I WILL like it or not?"
So…?
Without restarting the Plans debate. Let me just say I hate Plans and love We Have the Facts. So, can someone who owns this new album give me some odds whether I like it or not?
Frente!
Glad to see Frente! tucked away in your "also listened to" list. Way back when, in between Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, etc., I would often find time to put this band on my car radio during a long drive. (Tho their hits were the worst songs on the album, except for their version of Bizarre Love Triangle,…
Gotta disagree with Pretenders. 2nd and 3rd albums were not bad at all, and I'm sure lotsa people prefer them to the first, especially the 3rd which was very "accessible".
Others
The B-52's
Weezer (was the blue album their first? - not an attempt at firsties)
Sheryl Crow
Shania Twain
Sting (solo)
Sex Pistols (well…)
I know some of these aren't rock, but at least their pop.
Especially bad joke since the Tutsi aren't from anywhere near South Africa…
This guy…
He frustrates me. His whole take on religions is superficial. I also felt this when I read the first third of Pi (though the zoo stuff and the rest of the book was very good).
Mamet
I like most of his films, but the criticism raised here is valid. Almost all the "twists" are lame and telegraphed.
Amen
Regarding "Amen", it certainly does not translate to "so it goes", though I can see where someone might have been confused.
