Although i appreciate your honesty, not liking a show because you don't find the actors attractive is shallow - which makes you just like the characters on GIRLS, which is why you should like it. You can relate.

I don't get it. What's the dif between living with your parents (ie free rent, utitlities, food etc) or living in another city off your parents' money (ie free rent utilities food) . They both seem equally shi**y to me.

I agree - I would not subscribe to HBO for GIRLS alone that's for certain. I am more fascinated by the backlash than the show itself quite frankly. Though I do enjoy it - it makes me laugh - and it's easy viewing good for about any mood I am in.

"I really do think that there is some kind of deep-seated, mostly subconscious reaction to seeing these women act selfishly, treat men badly and mostly get away with it that bothers people. We can laugh at cads, but have trouble extending the same sense of fun or humor to women."

Why would an overhyped show turn so many people into foaming-at-the-mouth lunies? I think the hype plays a part,for sure - but it's not the only reason or even much of a reason.  I have seen LOADS and LOADS of overhyped movies and television shows and none of them have caused rage of the sort I see on these boards.…

@EmElle:disqus  - It's kind of funny, becauseI am actually married to a pharmacist. :-O Anywho, yeah I mean generally I don't dress like a total schlub - except when I am out in public around people I don't know or care about. But if I'm going out with friends or to work or whatever - I'll take a bit more care.
