Well, teens do all sorts of stuff adults shouldn't encourage. Such as looking for sex in skeevy places. While it may not be possible to stop that behavior, as teens do tend to be interested in sex, Clash could have chosen not to participate in it.

It would seem. Anyone remember beloved PBS chef The Frugal Gourmet? He apparently had a similar type, although he coerced teenage boys who worked for him, probably a more serious situation.

It also won "Best Feature Showing Underage Actors In Underwear" from the Association of Guys Who Just Like Spending Time With Kids OK, What's Wrong With That?

Indeed. Wayne Rogers played now-Colonel Nelson. I think I watched that when it was broadcast, but I had forgotten the recasting until you mentioned it. (I had to look up who replaced Hagman.) Apparently Tony Nelson didn't even appear as a character in the second reunion.

I would note that "crime victim" and "money grabber" are neither mutually exclusive nor synonymous.

@eric827:disqus That's how it is in the state I live in (Colorado). But, for anyone over 26 years of age, the line is still a line: the younger partner must be 17 (unless you are a "person in a position of trust", in which case the age is 18 no matter how old you are).

I'm pretty sure there are still ads for phone sex/chat lines in the back of my local alt-weekly. Not as many ads as there used to be, but the lines apparently still exist. There must still be a clientele.

That's my Sesame Street! I was born the year after SS premiered, so I saw all those old shorts, Snuffy was invisible to adults, and there was no Elmo. It was a Golden Age.

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus If there is going to be a line based on age, that line will necessarily be arbitrary, as not everyone develops at the same rate. I guess it would make life easier for some people if there were 1 national age of consent, but it would still be arbitrary.
