I rewatched the first Venus death probe two-parter a while back (yes, another one appeared for a sequel). I didn't think it was THAT horrible, as far as 70s TV goes. Yes, it was one of many shows shot on location in SoCal, and it was a bit padded, but it was a bionic man fighting a Venus death probe! C'mon! That's

Because that makes Bigfoot that much more awesome.

I too remember Charo. Also, she is a talented flamenco-style guitarist. Maybe she taught Steve Austin.

I was supposed to get a $6M Man for Christmas one year, but they were sold out or something. I got karate dudes instead.

Also, holy shit, that theme song is so terrible. It took me a few seconds after the vocals started to realize that it was supposed to be a Springsteen-soundalike, being set on the Jersey shore and all. The whole thing is the epitome of bad 90s sitcom openings.

I grew up Christian, but not the type that tried to block out all worldly influences. Thus, I listened to Dr. Demento on Sunday nights, yet never heard of the Apologetix. I was already out of college by the time Pearl Jam hit, so perhaps I just missed them, but somehow I'm guessing "Evolution's A Lie" never made Dr.

Yes!  Um, I mean, no!

I occasionally saw reruns of the H-B actioners, but my young childhood was pre-cable, and they weren't seen much on broadcast TV. However, they would pop up occasionally, and always seemed slightly mystifying. I seem to remember there were always lots of travel sequences in those cartoons.
