I thought Thomas Hardy wrote Far From the Madding Crowd.

Actually, he's her uncle, I think.

"Reposted Dostoyevsky Comments"

… but what do I call them when they are in China?

Baked beans are off!

@avclub-b03b8d4bf8d4e3922a8c0b867e4f2ce0:disqus Well, I deleted the post because it was about you, not about the topic at hand. Obviously, I was correct in my instinct to delete, because I assumed incorrectly. I was reacting my preconceived notions of who reads this website, so I assumed you were a white woman. So

Pretty infrequently. But it does happen. Fs always inspire rubbernecking.

Too much work to do today to read every comment here…. but my one pop culture experience of note this weekend was to see Denver native son "alt country" band Slim Cessna's Auto Club. Only some of the band live in Denver anymore, so when they come back to town, it's a bit of an event. They did a 3-night stand at the

I saw the PBS adaptation of Cadillac Desert some years back. It's a fascinating story. The West is really not a place where this many people should be living.*

Wait, are you talking about the Penelope Cruz impression? Penelope Cruz is Spanish. As in "from Spain". Europe. You know, the homeland of white people. Including Spaniards.

I think "attempted to make up for" might be a better choice of words than "more than made up for".

Do you know his wife's name? Incontinentia….

You're dating yourself, Captain.

@avclub-f670359f1d44336d4b83cdf7b8635f3b:disqus NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm WRONG ON THE INTERNET!!!! I can no longer show my face in public.  I will leave the misleading information up as a monument to my shame.

@avclub-d783823cc6284b929c2cd8df2167d212:disqus B-b-b-b-b-ut Sessions' message was displayed by video games EVERYWHERE! It MUST BE TRUE! Video games NEVER LIE. At least, not arcade games. Fuck those lying consoles.

Theremins are in fact awesome. But don't forget people like the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The theme from Doctor Who and the bleak electronic soundscapes used in British school programming in the 70s influenced a whole generation (from what I hear, being a US citizen myself).
