I've noticed that a bunch of the characters created in the 50s, 60s, and 70s still popular today originated or were popularized in anthologies. I know some publishers still have them, but it's too bad they no longer seem a viable means of introducing burgeoning talent or new creations to readers

I think it was necessary to solidify not only the contrasting ethical perspectives between Chuck and Jimmy but also their motivations. Obvious perhaps, but effective.
