I was under the impression the 90's were considered a pretty bad time creatively and artistically for comics.
I'm only familiar with Heavy Metal from the animated movie. I've never actually seen it, but when I was a kid in the early 80s my friends who had cable (who, from my perspective, were "rich") raved about it. Mainly because of the nudity, I think.
