Also, as a side note, I wish WB would give Berlanti and the CW series team a stab at a movie. It worked for Marvel with the Russos.

I'm ok with it not being very good, as long as I don't find it dreary and boring. I've yet to watch Man of Steel all the way through because of that.

If what you're saying is that we need Midnighter and Apollo movie, then I wholeheartedly concur.

I'm not aware of any show currently airing that has absorbed so much of the creative spirit of Community and 30 Rock as Black-ish has. As with those shows, it plays so much with its form and style without losing sight of the characters.

I love me some sociopathic Diane, but I agree there's a risk of flanderizing the character too much.

My guess is it has more to do with the Netflix shows wanting to maintain a distinct tone than the movies and ABC shows. Just a way of saying that that stuff exists but it's pretty far and unrelated to their day to day lives.
