Consistently excellent, both in the writing and the artwork. The ending - without spoiling anything - was fitting for the grim tone of the story.

Oh, I'm about a hundred pages in and it's confusing as hell, but I'm ok with that.

They were pretty grim for the most part. I adjusted my expectations once I realized the tone, but I still had difficulty with some of the protagonists. I don't mind flawed and somewhat unsympathetic characters, but some of these crossed the line into downright unlikeable.

Recently read Get in Trouble by Kelly Link. It was a good combination of weird imagination and character development, but I ended up liking it less than I thought I would.
