Can I ask what this skeeviness is about? I only know Wood from 'Starve' which is just fantastic.
I've been watching Happy Endings on Hulu as well, and I'll tell you what - season 1 stands up much better than I remember.
I like what I've read so far. I don't know how original the dual timeline is in comics, but it works here really well.
AIDS!!
Holy shit, this guy is taking Roy off the grid!
It's fun
I watched two, maybe 2.5 episodes of the first season when it first aired, and I concluded that I really hate this show.
It's a cultural thing, I think. Me, I dig the gorditas.
He looks like a wise, immortal yeti groundskeeper.
This sounds like someone at Fox went to storage, found a box labeled "Unaired Pilots '93-94" and just pulled out the first video tape in the stack.
I expect Christmas specials to over the top and frequently goofy, and this one had both in loads. A very fun episode. Sure, not everything quite worked, but the good outweighed the bad.
Yes, that's why it's called a pastime.
Highlights from this weekend's reading:
I'm glad Wild's End is getting some love. Such a great series.
Indeed. It may not blow one's mind, but it a compelling story well told and the artwork fantastic. A solid political sci fi comic for adults.
Saga #32
Invisible Republic #8
Island #5
Cap Sam Wilson #4
Angela: Queen of Hel #3
Wild's End: The Enemy Within #4
I don't think it's consistent or anything - just something I've noticed from the handful of Avatar titiles I've read: Uber, Crossed, Mercury Heat the aforementioned Black Friday. Others like 'Providence' don't have the same aesthetic. though.
There's also 'Black Summer' and 'No Hero', which along with 'Super-God' form a trilogy of sorts.
'The Force Awakens' Thursday night. Great fun! I'm sure I'll go again this week.
