"The first shot of Fletcher Morris, he’s smoking a cigarette and we can’t see his face, much like the Marlboro Man."

I know the kids are about the right age, no problem there. It's that the ages of JR and Larry Hagman don't match. It's not a deal breaker, but Hagman looks his full 80+ years.

That would have made Ellie 16 when she had JR. in 1935. That seems a little young to me, considering the cast of The Early Years where a lot of this info seems to have come from. I think they were trying to close the gap to make JR's age fit the actor, but from what I've read (and I wish I could fnid it) JR was

If I have any real criticisms about the show so far it's that the younger characters aren't all that interesting yet. John Ross is just "evil" and uptight. Eventually, he's going to have to take over for JR, but he has none of the classic JR attitude. It also doesn't feel expansive enough. Dallas was larger in scope

He said the Brakiri werer "the most important of the non-Council races." And I think you mean the Drakh, not so much the Drazi (the guys with the scarves).

I don't know if anyone touched o this because I don't wanna read 3 pages o'stuff (no time right now), but, I really think this series gets a lot of its inspiration from the 1970's BBC TV series Blakes 7. The same achetypes, fighting for survival and freedom against an evil Federation. Lots of great character

This show would be so much better if it were Alan Rickman's Best Sandwich In America.

"I’m having trouble thinking of series that retooled once, then retooled again, taking them in a direction back toward the original version of the show. Thoughts?"

"Jayne Cobb (Adam Baldwin), a straight-talking brute who craves action and loot"

That reminded me of Roadblock, the black dude in the G.I. Joe cartoon who always spoke in rhyme.

This is a great show. Sort of an American Blakes 7 (not there's a show I'd like you guys to cover).

Honstly, I'd just watch episodes written by J. Michael Straczynski. Until he took over as sole writer toward the end of the 2nd season (until the 5th season), others wrote scripts that didn't add a hell of a lot to the ogoing arcs. Even his bad episodes still impart something important to the story.

“A frustrated Tumak decides to take a ship and fly to Bajor on his own recognizance."

His own recognizance? Was he was arrested and let out on bail or something?
