I agree.  Damon is not a good choice for Elena - ever. Because unless something absolutely crazy happens to change the "nature" of Damon permanently I just don't see how a relationship can not implode.

The speech was a little much, because it flat out plotted the love triangle.  The only real benefit of that speech is that it didn't specifically say which was the wrong choice.  Indicating that it was still Elena's decision to make.
