@JLTucker:disqus You must not have read my post very well if you think I'm pissed off because it's a depiction of what the news should be. I both think that's not how the news "should be" (since it bears very little relation to reality, and thus doesn't actually touch on what good news actually looks like), and that…

@JLTucker:disqus Why do you believe the show is "doing its job" by pissing me off?

Actually, she was the best part of the episode.

Agreed; even though the way Sorkin characterizes Sloan is beyond lazy—you have two PhD's! I'm better at economics than personal matters!—Munn seems more natural/comfortable in her role than any of the other female actresses, mostly because her character is the most like a real human being.

But it's Democrat bashing from a liberal standpoint. It's difficult to actually believe Will holds multiple Republican viewpoints, since his criticisms about either party come almost uniformly from a liberal point of view (I say as a registered Democrat and professed liberal).

We hate it both because it's pandering trash, and because the women on the show are portrayed as being flighty idiots because of their ladyfeelings, rather than because of some other flaw. It's as if all women in Sorkin's world have no ability to overcome the natural neuroses of womanhood, and thus they require the…

You want to know why the Newsroom pisses me off? Because I agree with Sorkin about most issues, but he makes me hate myself a little bit for agreeing with such a pretentious hack. His dialogue has gone far downhill since the days of the West Wing. His depictions of debates are laughable—it's basically Will vs.…

@avclub-91546109eaf110327d50b0955865712a:disqus In the second season as Aang is learning Earthbending, and in the beginning of LOK, we're told that Earthbending is his opposite element, not firebending. Firebending isn't by nature aggressive; that's a perversion of it made normal by the militarization of the Fire…
