Failed Revamps
A few years removed, it's pretty clear that Peter Jackson's King Kong should have been portrayed as a terrifying, unsympathetic metaphor for gorilla rape. Failed revamps always try to latch onto some perceived-yet-not-really-present subtext in the original.
