I was going to ask that myself.

Those were 3 great episodes.

Those were 3 great episodes.

It's hard to describe — it's a martial art where there's a completely different body mechanic than what you see in, say, karate.  As a result, the power generated in punches, kicks, stomps, etc. is a lot greater.

And, if it's okay with you, let's leave it there.  If your offer still stands, I'd be glad to discuss this with you over e-mail.  If you'd rather not, I fully understand and I don't blame you.

No, Ric, I said that your claim was completely insane.  And no, I don't claim to know everything, and I never did.  What happened was that you made a claim about the superiority of martial artists in Taiwan and about the compromised nature of martial arts in China that's simply and obviously wrong when it comes to

Really — you believe that taiji is less compromised in Taiwan and the U.S. than in Chen Village?  That the xinyi in Shanxi province is less pure than what can be found in Taiwan or the U.S.?  Sorry, that's completely insane.

Okay, is it your contention that taiji, xinyi/xingyi, and bagua have been compromised in China?  If so, where is it that you think that those martial arts exist in a less compromised form?

I'm not sure if you caught the episode of Comedy Film Nerds that he guested in, but I remember that Meyers made the claim that martial arts died out in mainland China.  This really set off my bullshit alarms, as this is the sort of claim that a lot of Taiwanese and Hong Kong martial artists made about the internal

I’m not one of those who believes that the way a TV series ends determines its ultimate value. If Fringe’s fourth-season finale had wrapped up the series, I would’ve shrugged off the surfeit of happy endings and would’ve reflected instead on how much
the show has gotten right in its previous 80-plus episodes.

I wouldn't call it a best, but I kind of liked Kidnapped.  Not so much for the plot, but the details, the teaser subplot of the bad guy who got away with it, etc.

And from season 4 of Friday Night Lights.

Having said that, when the hell are we getting some frontal nudity by
Dr. Pretty Doctor? It would be nice if they could end the show on such a
high note.

So Charlyne Yi is on the show now, huh? Never been a fan of her shtick, but she seems okay here. (Of course, she doesn’t do that much in this episode.)

"The only woman I ever … the only woman, period."

I think it makes sense — it streamlines the exposition (imagine if Holmes had to say all of those things and explain exactly how he came to his conclusions) and isn't so intrusive as to become something that will get annoying.

Really, though, if the terrorists have Sukhois, the government probably
has other problems besides stealing people's relatives from funeral
homes.

The flight 007 bit — I immediately went to KAL007 — the Korean Air flight that was shot down by the Soviets back in 1983 when it strayed into prohibited airspace near Kamchatka ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wik… ).
