I agree Buzz. I think going into this album not expecting much helped me enjoy it more.

I lived in the south for 26 years before moving to Sacramento. As much as I love living so close to the Bay area and all the nifty things that go along with it, I miss REAL BBQ. People here call grilling chicken BBQ! Its insanity. Putting BBQ sauce on some piece of meat does not make it BBQ.

I love Girls too and every week I tell myself I will not go to the comments section and then I do. There are some great conversations going on there but you have to read through so much crap, some of which is infuriating, so it is probably best to stay away. I just don't have anyone to discuss it with IRL.

There is very little that's keeping me watching at this point, mostly the fact that my boyfriend likes bit so much. But if they kill Darryl, I'm out for good.

Diaqus is confusing me! I'd say my favorite Fassbinder is probably The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant or the Third Man.

This obviously isn't true in many parts of the country but here in Sacramento there are atheist/agnostic 12 step meetings.

So did I! My boyfriend actually woke up from a prescription pill induced deep sleep to see what was going on from the other end of the apartment.

I'm not going to justify Adam's behaviour but I think your definition of masculinity might be a little limited or possibly outdated.

Me too!

Ali: Fear Eats the Soul was my first Fassbinder movie and although its not my favorite, its still pretty great and was a good introduction to his work. If you get a chance and haven't already, check out Martha.

I listened to the new Eels album and am enjoying it so far. I've only listened to it once the whole way through and it takes time for me to form an opinion on new music.

I'm so sorry to hear about your girlfriend. I lost a fiance after he decided to move across the country to be with a girl he met on a mental health website. I feel like that could be a funny plot device in a film but in reality, its just horrifying.

I had an ex introduce me to Fishing With John years ago on an old VHS and hilarity ensued. I'm not sure if this is still the case but at one point it was on Netflix streaming.

Since I've been lurking around these threads before actually commenting on them, I'm curious as to how our AVC peeps respond to these shows. I know Scrawler must have an opinion. I haven't seen anything but the pilot for Scandal and I am finding House more enjoyable than I thought it would be. D.C. residents?

After I moved to Sacramento I started to get ads on Facebook for bus tours of Reno. I kept wondering what the fuck they were going to visit. The recently opened Carl's Jr.?

Oh I don't regret leaving either. It was time to move on. I live in Sacramento which is a huge city compared to growing up in the 757( ha) but you can barely find a close 24 hour diner here. I have a lot of fond memories of being at Waffle House.

Spoken like a guy who has a big wiener and small feet. Or a small wiener  Maybe a fat guy with absolutely no muscle tone.

I have definitely not mastered this ability yet.

I have a friend with a canyon-like vagina. So maybe not?

I could be open to that interpretation.
