Best new album in over a year
My initial impression after several listens is that it lacks the highs and lows of their first three albums (i merely liked Challengers). The "bad" songs (mostly Dan Bejar songs) aren't as bad, but it also doesn't have anything as great as "All for Swinging You Around," "Mass Romantic,"

HP for Her
While i understand your reaction to the Vivienne Tam series of computers, it's not the crass marketers who are at fault as much as the customers. Those suckers sell well and at a significant markup over the same computer in normal colors. Given the commoditization of the personal computer market, if HP

Like most right thinking humans, AV Club looks for any tenuous excuse to show that "Wet Hot American Summer" montage.

Playing with Pink Noise/Rodrigo y Gabriela
I love "Playing with Pink Noise":

Gaz? Really?

Orianthi
I turned on the TV just as Orianthi came on. I had never heard her before and was only vaguely aware of her existence. It reminded me of a Kelly Clarkson song minus the incredible voice, plus hair-metal guitar virtuosity.

@Plepto, The Forgotten Arm isn't that bad, it's just not as great as most of her stuff. It does have my favorite Aimee Mann song, "I Can't Get My Head Around It."

You should read Flatland in 1884 England, when it was even more relevant.

Flatland
Flatland is very enjoyable. I read the version annotated by Ian Stewart, which helped with some of the satirical aspects of it that i may have missed not being from Victorian England. Aside from the satire, it does a great job of explaining the concept of the fourth dimension to a

Agreed. One of the highlights of my non-existent comedy career was to have Andy Zaltzman read my Hotties from History nomination of Carlos II of Spain (he of the Habsburg Jaw and the sleeping with the exhumed corpse of St. Francis of Assisi).

Boner's website:

"an if-then clause"

I have no idea how i made that particular mistake. I suspect i slipped into a Tequila Ley-induced blackout mid-sentence and forgot i was in a if-then clause.

Use NetJets not Halcyon
I realize that many AV Club readers might be tempted by the Halcyon Jets offer, despite any possible corruption. However, if they purchase a Marquis Jet Card from NetJets.com instead. NetJets is a classy organization with many different jets to fit your executive travel need and, without the

Abed's Community College Chronicles
Episode 1 of Abed's film series is here:

I was born in 1975. I remember a little bit of the first season of the Blitz. The 21-point come-from-behind loss to the Philadelphia Stars in the playoffs sounds familiar. I don't recall the second season, after Arizona Wranglers and Chicago switched teams.
