I might need to watch the commentary again (and the movie while I'm at it), but IIRC, they actually did their best to keep the fact that Jack wasn't the real hero a secret from the studio. They didn't think they could get the movie made if it was known and understood that Wang was the real hero.

Seems like this post should be removed, since the content is now being cruelly denied.

Or at least put up a Rick Roll or something. Fuck.

I for one am all in favor of pretty girls pretending to be into nerdy things.

Arizona?

I have not been an avid Lawman viewer, but I thought he was somewhere in Louisiana?

Miss Piggy
… isn't a Sesame Street character. That seems to be the detail people are missing (or indifferent to).

I'm just glad the clip of Liam Neeson staring down the alien commander and growling "You. Sank. My. Battleship!" was left out of the trailer.

I love this place.

Tom Tom at least promoted these with a sense of humor:

Bent perspective?
I don't think that means what you think it means.

He's got a monitor set into the table, and is laying the paper on top of it, tracing movie footage frame-by-frame.

This is not animating.

Can someone help me out here - is Lucy Punch actually attractive or not? I'll see her in something and I think "hey, she's actually kinda hot," and then in something else "woah, she's goony-lookin'"

Yeah, but his medical speciality is treating people with the healing power of laughter!

Nick Offerman refers to Ron's haircut as 'the full douche.'

Predominant color
Mike - you're correct that the predominant color of the sequence is probably a yellow-orange, but it's referred to as the 'battle in red' because both women are wearing vividly-colored red dresses. Colors which I'm guessing you may not really be able to see (or ever have seen).

My wife told me I 'sounded like Lana' the other day. I didn't know what she meant (or how to take it) until she pointed out I'd said "nooope!" with that character's inflection.

Gotta love the hick-hop music.

Way late, but…

It would be unfair of me to say which one of you is my favorite, but let's just say it rhymes with 'blue.'

I always thought Prince of Darkness was remarkable for how clumsy and kludgey a story it was, yet still managed to have some really great atmosphere and some genuinely scary bits. And a great fucked-up ending. Love it when the bad guys win.
