Ok, I didn't even remember that. Makes even more sense
I think the idea of a 'ghost dad' is not that bad and Remar is a good actor. It's just that during the years he stopped portraying Dexters inner thoughts and just started spouting exposition with a subtlety of an anvil.
Funnily enough, when this show was new, everybody kept saying how the show is so much better than the books. That was around (admittedly brilliant) first season though. So I have no idea what the consensus is nowadays.
Too bad all everybody will remember of Dexter is these last few shitty seasons. Season one was actually really really good. It had it weak spots (predictability mainly, since the voice over and ghost harry weren't too bad then yet), but the whole Ice Truck Killer-thing was beautifully constructed.
Yo I want in on this action!
I somehow bollocksed up the names in my head and thought at first you ment Chris Pratts character Andy… Didn't really make sense, but I still found it amusing,.
Probably because everybody knows him and they know him as Culpepper.
I thought the episode was pretty okay while being one of the weakest installments It also showed that this show really needs Nick Kroll to keep it all together.

I know I know. Criticism for Breaking Bad is not allowed in AV-Club. I just forget it sometimes.
I feel like I've been corrupted by cable comedies where every character is a fucking asshole. I just can't get into normal sitcoms like these anymore.
Damn The Office was such a good show… I'm glad they only made six seasons so the quality never dropped badly.
This show started deteriorating badly during third season already, when Harmon was still the skipper. I don't think his return is going to do much difference, especially with Cornelius Crane leaving.
I'd get it if it was an actually consistently amazing show like Boardwalk Empire or Mad Men or Homeland, or Six Feet Under… But honestly, Breaking Bad is extremely inconsistent.
Too bad. Seth Green is actually pretty funny guy.
Many are raving about New Girl in AV Club, but when does the show actually start to get good? I'm few episodes into second season now and it still seems "just another sitcom".
And it should be called Third season of Jericho
I'm European and I get irked really quick when an American show gets overly patriotic… Didn't have that problem with the Afganistan episode of Louie. I think it was quite tastefully and neutrally done. It didn't glorify the troops, as much as just made the viewer aware that they're just regular people often.
Ok, I clearly shouldn't be replying to a guy whose nickname is Heisenberg, especially if he thinks Breaking Bad is better than Mad Men… I hope you won't send an aryan hit squad after me :)
Kate Walsh has been on a roast as a roaster before. Also Workaholics is on Comedy Central so it'd only make sense they get in as a favor. No idea about the others though.
