No, you're only supposed to like movies by people like Tarantino, who like movies that aren't critically acclaimed.

Holy shit, for a minute there I thought he was talking about that Vince Vaughn Google movie. (No that the de Niro one looks much better….)

Commenters' wives HATE him!

Don't forget Lou. Godspeed you, Iggy Pop.

It's shite being Scottish!

Not to mention, his vocal work on Let's Dance is incredible, some of his best,

Never actually heard all of the second one, but "Baby Universal" was pretty good.

It just got pegged as the "Oh, Bowie the rockstar just wants to be one of the guys yeah right" album; it's like people couldn't get past the band name "Tin Machine" on the record. If he'd just called it "Bowie," PJ Harvey style, it would probably have been remembered quite differently.

The proper response is, "Because it sounds cool."

Oh, that's too good, we need the whole quote for that: "They were in the back of a limo, and King raised his left buttock and expelled a thunderous fart."

Don't know why Sean Penn is getting so much grief for what I thought was a pretty well-written and interesting story. Do these same people read those jackasses at the NY Times with a straight face?

Worse than Blixa Bargeld?

I am a huge Bowie fan, and this is one of my favorite Bowie albums. It got a lot of shit at the time (and now, apparently) for the "art-murder concept album" thing and the character interludes, but those complaints are overblown. For one, Ziggy Stardust is often considered his best and it's an undisputed classic, but

Because money.

That's exactly what was so frustrating for me about season one—all that potential to talk about that kind of stuff, wasted. Instead, a really long version of Dateline, as someone said above. Or the dullest episode of TAL ever. (TAL, by the way, was just killing it around the same time Serial was on.)

And Blackstar was Bowie's. Damn, damn, damn. And I love Nirvana, but that shows you something about Bowie as an artist.

Holy shit, I guess I am alone here when I say that this season is a huge improvement over last season. When it comes to the last season, somebody killed a girl and we don't know who it was, that's it. It never got any deeper, except the host's endless agonizing about how maybe "nice" people could do bad things. No

These shots aren't even symmetrical. Fuck this.

Seeing him wearing that in the Lazarus video is fucking heartbreaking and moving more than any pop music video should have any right to be. Fucking Bowie, amazing even in death.

Wouldn't skip them, just work back to them. I'd even listen to Tin Machine, personally. Laughing Gnome, whatever. Because it's Bowie.
