The reason the terminator uses stupid one liners and doesn't recognize cops as a threat:

Rodolfo you are a dumb fuck. There are twin brothers in the movie from the beginning. I could have also spolied it by telling your virgin ears that Daniel Day Lewis in it, or Johnny Greenwood's music. Imagine the shock when you learn a basic plot point that is in the first part of the movie.
