different Shyamalan movie, but…
Am I the only one who left the theater after seeing "Unbreakable" and thought, "wow, would that have been a killer opening for a new TV show. Too bad the story ends on this anticlimax and there's no future episode of Bruce Willis as an indestructible security guy." ????

thanks for the sleep deprivation
Reading about this movie gave me a series of nightmares and just general "I hope humanity is obliterated in a nuclear holocaust SOON" feelings.

Robert Shaw…
…as "Quint" in "Jaws"? He was badass. He had a tattoo. It was pretty memorable. But I guess we never really see it, we just see the scar that was left after removing it.

elevated decibel level
"…conducting every conversation at an elevated decibel level so that there's nowhere to go once there's actually something to shout about."

Tom Waits…
…also wrote a song called "Hold On", which is more deserving than some on this list. But it doesn't feature someone on the verge of suicide, just someone having generally hard times.

Don't Fear the Reaper
And where's "Don't Fear the Reaper"? Huh??

Dire Straits, Telegraph Road
It's been said before. I'll say it again.

Bolt, or Boldt, or something like that
There was a Highway to Heaven episode which featured the ghost of a womanizing, sportscar-driving secret agent named Bolt. Roger Bolt.

foreign films
Yo, AV Club, when you review foreign films, could you include the original title somewhere so that those of us not in the US can find the original without first having to do a search on the US-released title to find out what it originally was?

titles of foreign films
Hey AV Club, how about including the original titles when you review foreign films? Not only would that give you more hipster cred, but for those of us not living in America (and maybe some who do live in America?) it would be cool to know what film title to be looking for in our theaters,

Foreign Films
Could you, like, include the original titles when you review foreign films? We don't all live in America, and can't always find movies based on their English title.
