You know when you're having dinner/drinks/whatever and there's a couple that feels the need to share 'how we met' stories that are really only interesting/charming to said couple, and you have no correct response besides politely smiling and nodding?  How did that happen more than once in this single article?

And don't forget the new mashup of Amberlivia and Olivia Classic.  I'd say that's a whole new character.

I was trying to remember if Happiness had more than one animated scene.  Are we counting claymation as "animated"?

If I recall correctly, the rice signifies how damn Japanese he is.  I think an early draft had it as steak or something, but Suzuki thought rice was what a red-blooded Japanese man would be into.

Regenerations
Anyone else catch the line that the TARDIS has 30 control rooms saved, which includes future ones the doctor hasn't even created yet? If new control rooms come with new regenerations of the Doctor, I think this is the strongest evidence to date that they're gonna get rid of that whole "ONLY 12

Three Amigos
How the hell do you have Chevy Chase in a spoof of westerns and NOT make a Three Amigos reference? If it doesn't show up next week, my brain might explode.

Slight edit: Under the Red Hood isn't considered DCAU, but it's animated DC. Really, besides the voice casting, it would fit in just fine.

There isn't too much of a difference between the cut and uncut versions, except

I'm gonna have to agree with Pioneers Who Got Scalped. It really is an excellent collection, and has some sweet b-sides and alternate versions (but in a "hey, that's actually awesome" way, not a 'just for the fans' way). You'll also get a good chunk of the songs from Q: Are We Not Men on there, but that whole album

"Up" puts up a damn good fight for best Pixar flick, but it does suffer a bit of a weaker second act. Those first 15 or so minutes, though? Perfection. If just that part were released as a self contained short film, I think it wouldn't be on my lists of favorite Pixar films but favorite all time films.

"Afghanistan banana stand", actually, according to the book (which I just read last night, nice coincidence).

What about the ending to DOA 3? THAT'S the ending I hope all movies decide to go with. This world needs more gigantic CGA penis monsters.

Guitar Wolf
I happened to be Tokyo and there were two awesome concerts scheduled for Halloween weekend at a small rock club. The first night was headlined by the 5.6.7.8's and the second was headlined by Guitar Wolf. This wasn't too long after Kill Bill came out, and my Guitar Wolf fandom hadn't yet blossomed, so I

Hello, longest thread ever. So why has nobody defended Wanted yet? Oh wait, yeah. God that series blows. It does have a neat concept though: what would the world where supervillains won be like? It would be nice if it weren't so rapetastic. Red Son also has a pretty neat concept, but the execution suffers (though

Yes, I know I'm lame for ripping on typos.
But short-sided instead of short-sighted made me laugh. I can't not think of a man bent over like a tree in the wind. "What's wrong with you?" "One of my sides is too short, thanks for bringing it up, jerk."

And to add to Sr. Handlen's 'movies before 1970,' anything foreign. You get used to American TV and movies only having people smoking if they're evil/crotchety father figure with an oxygen tank/stressed out because their significant other is hiding something from them. Then you watch something made in another

Cigarettes!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously. It's messed up.

Did you really just namedrop Huizinga?
Even though Caillois is where it's at?

Finally some love for Mystery Team
Even if it's only as a side mention by one person. I think the problem might just be that there seems to be only one copy of this thing or something, it really deserves a wide release. It's not perfect, but it's the only movie I can recall laughing out loud to in the theaters this
