It was probably less about show quality than about signs of continued ratings decline. It pulled a 2.7 last night, continuing the previous slide of 4.7/3.3/2.9. I don't think it's an accident that Marvel put out this release just when the numbers came out.

Sounds more like they're declaring defeat and trying to whip up something else real quick before the franchise takes damage.
