yeah, i understand that. But the reboot made sure that once people traveled in time, this was no longer necessarily the same universe as the original. What Takei did 50 years ago shouldn't preclude films made without him involved from evolving.

Late to the party, but I am having trouble enjoying this season right now… For me, every line of dialogue is this ALL CAPS LAMPSHADED NON NUANCED RETELLING OF THE PLOT, over and over. I can just hear the studio notes, which seem to be "repeat the plot and who each character is every 10 seconds in case some newbie…
