when I was a kid, I swear to God I saw a commercial for these Popsicles, but instead of a wooden stick, it was a stick made of gum, and you ate the gum after the popsicle. I made my Mom take me to the IGA and ask for them. And when the store-guy said he didn't know what the hell I was talking about, I cried. So I

was that in the 'date research meeting?'… that was cut from the pilot i just watched on hulu.

chhhhelo, my name is mandy patinkin, your show's not funny, prepare to die!

Pretty good. Both stars are likable. It's almost a Rom-Drom instead of a Rom-com right now, as there weren't that many jokes. But I enjoyed watching and the hook is interesting, even as it makes you worry about how you stretch this out over 9 seasons, a la HIMYM.

Oh man, and just when I — never watched a single episode of either Dallas series. Carry on.

bay cities rocks.

Don't badmouth the money, Lisa. It isn't the money's fault you cheated.

THANK YOU! Fuck that movie.

Damn, Bridget Fonda was hot in Jackie Brown.

Right? I was on the cover of TIME magazine!

I loved that book! Haven't re-read it though. I just remember liking how it all got started over a baseball card, and the villain gleefully just turned everyone against each other until the town literally blew up.

@avclub-1922cc1dc1286b56a2d99b7f1aa0630c:disqus ditto. I figured this was a digital download I somehow missed, then when the review mentions finding IDs of victims, it sparked the dimmest memory of reading a story like that. I can't remember anything that happened other than that little tidbit.

King needs to hire somebody to stop him from writing screenplays. His dialogue works (at least I don't hate it like others do) in his long-form books, but he does not have an ear for how real people talk, and the best adaptations of his work seem to have him not involved in their production.

Amen to that. The Sure Thing and Better Off Dead are not just seminal movies for those of us that were teenagers then, they are legitimately good, fun movies. And he is fantastic in them, carrying them. His scene where he plays the deranged hitchhiker in Sure Thing is fucking comedy gold. Then he renounced that

Oh, Cusack. You were my favorite actor when I was a kid. Now you make this crap. And that time I tried to say HI to you at a big work Halloween party, and you yanked your mask down over your face and booked out of the room as soon as anyone even noticed you, lends credence to the rumors you are kind of a dick.

It was actually kind of cute. If they lost the inner monologues completely, it would've been a full letter grade higher. All the worst, most sexist, lamest jokes were in the voiceover. You could've shown the exact pilot without the monologues and it wouldve worked fine.

Pac Man Fever or GTFO.

I watched the pilot a while back, when the first of the (four?) reviews on AVclub came out. I've always liked Cho, and this was pretty fun. Hopefully starting Eliza 'down' gives her room to grow. Hard to see how she got to be the best salesperson and have a ton of 'followers' (for doing what?) on social media, if

He wants to go to Candy Island , dammit !
