I remember seeing liquid nitrogen on Mr. Wizard as a kid.  He put a rose into it, and then smashed the rose into a million pieces.  I remember thinking 'what if you stuck your hand in, and then smashed your hand into a million pieces?'

Worst things for me:  Imagining getting a paper-cut on your eyeball.  Imagining getting teeth knocked out.  Imagine losing fingers in an accident, and holding your hand up and seeing not all the fingers.   (shuddering)
