"Killing Them Softly was barely a film."

Yep. The pushback later was that the "affluenza" expert testimony didn't really influence the sentencing. But that still doesn't excuse the slap on the wrist.

If only we could hold conflicting ideas in our heads. Oh well.

This comment keeps popping up. I think it's wrong. The song is repurposed at the end of the movie, after everyone has realized that everything is not awesome, and, in fact, how silly and ridiculous the notion is. It's still catching, but it's plain, clearly, nakedly stupid and incorrect. My kids are pretty young

Same here!

Weird, not all snarky bumperstickers out west are from evil conservatives.

I agree that it replaces the character, so you could say that GRRM didn't have to pay for the rape/murders.

Oh, I hear you. It's crazy to me when we're paying $200+ each per season in league fees, and people don't want to pay more than $30 for a jersey that will last a few seasons. We eventually settled on a custom crest that is itself sublimated. The crest was just $20, and we found a decent generic jersey to put it on.

Thanks, I had forgotten this.

Yeah, I agree with this. It'll be a hard flip to make. I guess they can argue that Shae was threatened, but her testimony (as other have explained) surely went beyond what was necessary. It was deeply personal.

"And does anybody even remember the show’s Tysha analogue?"

You're supposed to spend time with them, and actually engage with their lives, interests and education, you selfish ass.

I didn't get the impression that those things were meaningless in the end. Just that they were unsolved/unresolved.

"The promise of the show was that it was breaking the mold, doing unpredictable things in spectacularly well executed ways. The characters were unpredictable, the plot was unpredictable…"

"yet another deep dive into man’s depravity"

Hmmm, better or worse than Pearl Harbor?

I don't understand how she hasn't aged at all in the last 15 years.

I liked how they introduced themselves and Gannon capped it with "I'm the guy in the suit." They seem to be having fun.

Damn guys, get a [chat] room already.

I saw the movie it's first night, and it is not even remotely anti-business. Lord/President Business is clearly about "Business" versus "Fun" (i.e. party in the back business in the front) not "Business" versus "Socialism." He's uptight, structured, boring. I know it's a precious word for some people, but geesh.
