"And now that the lawyers are involved, morality ceases; it's about money and liability, and since you have no sport without kids, the threat of kids from suing their high schools for knowingly scrambling their brains will be the axe that kills it."

The NASCAR comparison is a poor one.
You need the hard shell in there somewhere, because it does a damn good job of preventing skull fractures. Those are bad. But it seems like there's nothing you can do to the helmet to defend against concussions.
I know this is a joke and all but seriously — who is buying this music? Who is her fan base? It has to be desperately small — silly girls between 16-19. Swift or Bieber must have 10,000x the fans.
How so?
I'm dying here….
Dorks don't like vomit and fart jokes? Perhaps I don't know what a dork is.
I'm not a fan of these whines. I love Winston, he's a fantastic character who they use as an excellent straight man while still having him portray a steady set of bizarre quirks that would only work for him. I think they've been using him perfectly — he doesn't need to be in the middle to make this work.
I didn't watch this. Not really interested in watching it, but was curious about the review. I like TDW, but, c'mon, he is the AV Club's most easily offended critic. Would love to read a different reviewers take.
One of my favorite things on the show was the way they decorated his room with a bunch of generic skateboard poster that just said things like "SKATE". Skateboard posters in general would probably be more fitting for a 10 year old than a high schooler, but they couldn't even bother to get realistic posters such as…
It's possible, Winny and Yabels, that you are overanalyzing this. It was a silly thing on a late night entertainment show.
Lotta Cracker in this thread
Yeah, it seems like a realistic reaction. Mike D'A sounds like his entire view of the movie was destroyed because he disagreed with a character's choice. I don't know, that seems pretty lame. I understand being thrown off by an implausible choice, but I don't see that here.
From what I read, she originally thought she was just a stripper, and then later learned she was a prostitute. Compared to prostitution, you could argue that stripping is just a game.
Well they aren't jobs that you or I would want. But, you know, other people.
But both Lady Gaga and Madonna have both had plenty of looks that weren't traditionally "inherently feminine". Gaga tops that world.
I think you're ignoring the fact the her popularity is based on her wholesome Disney career. If she was new on the scene, you wouldn't hear a peep.
Shhhhhh….you're supposed to be using the words "empowerment" and "expression", instead of "debasement" and "exploitative". Luckily you can just be swept aside as a prude.
Right, and she's missing on it. She putting off the impression that she thinks being an adult is getting CRAZY AND SEXY AND WACKY. She like a cartoon of an adult, a parody of sexuality, what a 14-year old thinks an adult is. In other words, she's much more Corey Feldman than J Gordon-Levitt.
Well, good for her that she still has fans.
