Thematically, it seems to mostly be about Lynch's own fear of becoming a new father.
I've still got my giant, big box of Eraserhead (titled Eraserhead 2000) and the big box of his short films. I think I've still got the David Lynch shoebox he shipped them in, too. That was very exciting when I got that package in the mail, I can tell you that.
